DeafBlind Advisory Committee
What is the purpose of the DeafBlind Advisory Committee?
The Louisiana Commission for the Deaf has established a DeafBlind Advisory Committee, which held its first meeting in January 2024. The DeafBlind Advisory Committee has a responsibility to identify needs/issues impacting the DeafBlind community and provide recommendations for solutions to the LCD Board.
Who is eligible to serve on this committee?
- No training is required, but you must:
- Have a lived experience as an individual with deafblindness or;
- Have some experience in working with and/or advocating for the DeafBlind community; and
- Be a Louisiana resident
*Majority of committee members shall be made up of individuals who are DeafBlind
