We are thrilled to share that our statewide mentoring program for sign language interpreters is offering new pathway opportunities starting in July! To better support interpreters during their professional development and practice, our mentoring program is creatively designed for those who value ongoing growth and life-long learning!
Created by the Louisiana Commission for the Deaf offers three opportunities:
• The PreK-12 Project: A Roadmap to Excellence is a project designed for sign language interpreters working in PreK-12 educational settings.
• The Pre-Certified Sign Language Interpreter: Bridge to Certification is a project designed for pre-certified sign language interpreters working in general community settings.
• College Internship offers structured guidance, professional practice, exposure to high-quality interpreting settings, and resources to achieve professional certification.
