On December 10, Jana Broussard, the acting executive director of the Louisiana Commission for the Deaf, was awarded the 2025 Public Servant of the Year Award during theGovernor’s Outstanding Leadership in Disabilities (GOLD) Awards Ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by the Governor’s Office of Disability Affairs and provided an opportunity for Louisiana to honor the achievements and dedication of individuals working within the disability community.
Over the past several years, Jana Broussard has demonstrated outstanding leadership in upholding the mission of the Louisiana Commission for the Deaf, which is to “engage, empower, and enrich the lives and opportunities of d/Deaf, DeafBlind, and hard of hearing individuals living in Louisiana.”
